Masking Guidance by Worksite
As we’ve done throughout the pandemic, we continue to follow CDC guidance, as well as federal, state and local regulations on masking. Please see this full list of masking guidance by facility, which is updated weekly.
The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, fights the spread of the virus and is effective at preventing severe disease, hospitalization and death.
As with many vaccines, protection can wane over time, so stay up to date on your vaccination and let us know when you do.

How We Are Protecting Our People
We have worked together to create a safe environment for the people we serve and anyone entering our facilities. Now that we have transitioned to a vaccinated on-site workforce, we are evolving our approach to positive COVID-19 case reporting for employees.
For U.S.-based employees, including those in Puerto Rico:
1
Only report a positive COVID-19 test to Enterprise Occupational Health & Safety (EOHS) if you potentially exposed others (including colleagues, customers, clients, members, etc.) at work or at a work-related event or meeting.
Note: Report a positive case regardless of potential worksite exposure only if your business requires you to do so in support of WFM efforts.
2
Once a case is submitted, you will receive email confirmation and details on isolation and return-to-work guidelines.
3
EOHS will review information submitted and will only contact you if additional information is needed.
4
Follow the appropriate guidelines for quarantine or isolation, and returning to office below.
Positive COVID-19 Test
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 AND potentially exposed others (including colleagues, customers, clients, members, etc.) at work or at a work-related event or meeting, open a case with EOHS (Only U.S.-based employees, including Puerto Rico).
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, regardless of potential exposure to others:
- Stay home and do NOT report to a worksite.
- Monitor your symptoms and seek care as needed.
- Communicate with your manager about your ability to work.
- Isolate and determine return to work date based on your situation, using the links below:
- California Employees – California Guidelines (Note: CA Patient-Facing Employees see High Risk Settings section)

COVID-19 Testing Options
A COVID-19 diagnostic test is the only way to rule out an active infection. The following are options for getting tested:
- Households can order four free tests through the federal government.
- Contact your local pharmacy.
- See your health care provider.
- Visit a local testing site.
- Order a COVID-19 test from the Optum Store.
Recent updates to federal guidelines may allow you to purchase COVID-19 tests at little or no cost during the national public health emergency. Click for more information on UnitedHealthcare plans. Reimbursement details may vary, depending on your specific plan.
COVID-19 Exposure
If you have been exposed to COVID-19:
- Quarantine according to the following guidelines based on your work location. Note: Quarantine guidelines are based on COVID-19 vaccination status.

- Puerto Rico Employees – Puerto Rico Guidelines
- All Other Patient-Facing Employees – CDC Guidelines for Health Care Personnel
- All Other Employees – CDC Guidelines
